Apple exports from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan and Russia at €0.55 per kilogram

Orchardists in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan have this year exported nearly 2,700 tonnes of apples to Russia and Kazakhstan at a price of around €0.55 per kilogram, according to the press service of the in the region.

The area boasts 2,500 hectares of apple orchards, yielding a harvest of 17,400 tonnes this year. On the domestic market, a kilogram of apples is sold for €0.28-€0.33.

Additionally, more than 2,000 tonnes of apples are currently stored in the region's warehouses, ready to be sold or exported as demand and prices rise.

In the city of Kyzyl-Kiya, there are two juice production facilities where orchardists can sell fallen apples at €0.02 per kilogram.

The region has established conditions for the cultivation of environmentally friendly produce with export potential, thanks to the operation of a bio-factory for fertilizer production and a quarantine laboratory for product certification.
