From January to August this year, Kazakhstan exported 610,200 tons of fresh vegetables, marking a 2.6-fold increase compared to the same period last year. The agricultural sector earned $76.1 million from these supplies.
Potato exports saw a 2.6-fold rise, reaching 305,400 tons (worth $32.7 million). A large shipment was sent to Uzbekistan—252,300 tons, a 2.2-fold increase. The vegetable was also sold to Tajikistan—34,000 tons (up 17.4 times) and Turkmenistan—17,500 tons (a fivefold increase).
Shipments of onions and garlic abroad increased 3.2 times, totalling 221,900 tons. Pakistan purchased more than 100,000 tons, an 11.5-fold increase from last year. Other importers included Russia—60,800 tons (up 6.7 times), Poland—6,900 tons (up 10.3 times), and Georgia—6,000 tons (up 72.6 times).
The volume of cabbage exports (including white, cauliflower, and broccoli) tripled to 34,300 tons, valued at $2.1 million. These were shipped to Russia, Belarus, and Poland.
Carrot exports increased 1.7 times to 22,400 tons. These vegetables were bought by Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Lithuania.
Additionally, more tomatoes from the local market were exported abroad—15,600 tons (up 16.2%). These tomatoes were sold to Russia, Tajikistan, and the UAE.
Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan also imported eggplants, celery, and asparagus from Kazakhstan—7,200 tons (a 2.2-fold increase).
