The stone fruit season from South Africa is in full swing. Apricots, nectarines, peaches and plums from the sunny regions of southern Africa can now be found in retail fruit departments. These highlights, both in terms of appearance and flavour, bring the freshness of the South African summer into the winter months and offer consumers a top-quality taste experience.
Focus on the food retail trade
This season, the agency ROOS is focusing on cooperation with food retailers. "The food retail is the bottleneck and the intersection to the consumer – here we have the opportunity to implement controlled and effective activation measures together", explains Michael Roos, owner of the agency ROOS.
Further measures include a mix of b-to-b activities, press work, social media campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, and a weekly newsletter. The aim is to increase the visibility and attractiveness of South African stone fruit in the German market.

Improved product supply despite challenges
One of the biggest challenges in recent years was ensuring a reliable supply of goods, especially via the main hub and port in Cape Town. Although there is still room for improvement, significant improvements have been seen compared to the previous year. This ensures more stable availability of high-quality products.
Germany as a key sales region
Stone fruit from South Africa is synonymous with premium quality and unrivalled flavour. The South African stone fruit association HORTGRO, which represents almost all the country's producers, continues to regard the German market as one of its most important export markets. "Even though the association is increasingly targeting Asian markets, Germany remains a key sales region. Take the opportunity to enjoy South African stone fruit and bring a taste of summer into your winter kitchen!"
