Second place: apples. This seasonal fruit comes in 2nd place, with 98,845 tons purchased. However, this represents a 7% drop from the same period last year.
In third place comes the mandarin, with 52,179 tons purchased, an increase of almost 5%.

"Other fruits and vegetables round off the ranking, such as pumpkins, which recorded an impressive 20% increase this year, and kiwis, with an increase in sales of more than 32%. This ranking confirms the French people's appetite for seasonal and exotic fruit and vegetables," according to the Kantar Institute.
