Parkside has announced an expansion of its range of lidding film solutions, aiming to support businesses in the fresh produce, meat, and dairy sectors with innovative packaging options. The company's updated portfolio is designed to provide tailored solutions to meet the specific requirements of various food products and applications.
Among the expanded range is Popflex, a monopolymer lidding film featuring laser-scored integral easy-opening functionality. When weld-sealed to a matching PET tray, the film is suitable for recycling, contributing to improved environmental sustainability. This feature earned the product a Recyclable Packaging Innovation award at the 2024 Sustainable Packaging News Awards.
The portfolio also includes recyclable reclosable films, monopolymer films, compostable films, paper films, and standard polymer films. These materials are designed to accommodate a wide variety of applications, providing options for recyclability, durability, and usability.
Ian McManus, Sales Account Manager at Parkside, explained that packaging projects require tailored solutions. "Each application must consider the unique needs of the product and the customer," McManus stated. "Our lidding film portfolio offers a wide range of features, including high barrier properties, easy-open functionality, recyclability, and print quality, which can be combined to meet specific requirements."
Parkside's lidding film innovations will be showcased as part of ProSeal's stand at the Fruit Logistica trade fair. ProSeal, a manufacturer of tray sealing machinery, will use Parkside's materials to demonstrate its tray sealing capabilities. Parkside representatives, including Sales Account Managers Staci Bye and Ian McManus, will attend the event.
Parkside will be at Fruit Logistica 2025 in Hall 1.1, Stand C-20.
