A delegation of ten international representatives from the potato sector, including delegates from the United States, Canada, and Australia, is on a week-long tour in New Zealand. Hosted by Potatoes New Zealand, the visit aims to facilitate engagement with local growers, researchers, and businesses, encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The itinerary involves visits to key growing regions, research facilities, and processing plants, offering insights into advancements in horticulture, biosecurity, and production techniques. The tour began at the Vegetables Big Day Out, featuring sessions such as a presentation on herbicide resistance by Associate Professor Andy Robinson and a panel discussion on global challenges and opportunities in the potato sector.
