PHOTO REPORT Sana Food 2025

On February 25, 2025, Sana Food, the event dedicated to all aspects of healthy food from controlled and sustainable supply chains, came to an end. The new location in Hall 18 did not impress the exhibitors, nor did the new format. The good flow of visitors, thanks to the Slow Wine Fair taking place at the same time, did not quite meet expectations. The wine-food combination was not fully realized this time around, leaving a few too many bitter feelings at Sana Food.

Institutions, public authorities, and trade associations were well represented in large exhibition areas with multiple companies and/or many references. There were only a few fresh fruits and vegetables, but there was a good variety of processed foods and interesting combinations of foods. Both organic and biodynamic agriculture were well represented, as were vegan and vegetarian drinks and foods, functional foods, including 'free from' and 'rich in' products, and ranges for athletes, the elderly, children, people with allergies or intolerances and those on special diets, including PDO, PGI, and SGT labels.

Interestingly, many of the companies met on day one, and some on day two chose to highlight their products rather than the people representing and/or overseeing them. There was a full program of events, including tastings, show cooking, and conferences.

While awaiting official figures from the organizers, most exhibitors, especially those who have exhibited at Sana in the past, said they were disappointed with the event and that the new format proposed this year needs new life (and better organization) for all future editions.
