A delegation of 15 major fruit exporters from Spain's Extremadura region visited the Port of Santos in Brazil to evaluate logistics and cargo storage at Transbrasa, focusing on the reefer container area crucial for maintaining perishable goods. Miguel Angel Bernet, president of Afruex, emphasized the logistics standards at Transbrasa, ensuring Spanish fruit remains fresh for Brazilian distributors. Bernet stated, "Fruit exports require care at every stage of the process, especially after entering the importing country. Here we see that Transbrasa keeps the product in ideal conditions to pass inspections by the Ministry of Agriculture and, subsequently, be sent to the distribution markets."
Transbrasa CEO Bayard Umbuzeiro Neto highlighted Afruex's support for their processes. "The Europeans saw our structure up close and how the cargo release and destination routine works. It is very important that they have the assurance that Transbrasa receives fresh fruit at the port and delivers it to distributors with the same quality as when it left Spain."
The Spanish delegation visited to participate in Fruit Attraccion São Paulo, an event with global relevance for fruit and legume producers and exporters. Bayard noted, "The Spanish are major suppliers of fruit to Brazil, especially citrus fruits, berries and peaches. We will showcase the entire process of excellence carried out upon arrival, ensuring quality for consumers."
