U.S. apple storage down three percent compared to April 2024

According to a monthly survey, the total number of apples in storage on April 1, 2025, was 92 million bushels, 3 percent less than last April's total of 95 million bushels and 16 percent more than the 5-year average for that date.

Fresh apple holdings this April totaled 66 million bushels, 3 percent less than the inventories reported for last April. Processing holdings totaled 26 million bushels, 3 percent less than last year on April 1.

This report captures more than 95 percent of the national storage capacity.
