In the first quarter of 2025, Georgia's export of potatoes and nuts increased sharply, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
Potato exports grew 38 times compared to the same period last year, reaching $13.5 million, up from just $400,000. The main destinations were Russia and Azerbaijan.
Nut exports also showed strong growth:
- Raw nuts rose by 46%, reaching $30 million (a $9.5 million increase).
- Processed nuts nearly doubled, with a 93% increase.
The European Union remains the primary market for Georgian nuts.
