Azerbaijan bans tomato imports from Iran's Hadi Porreza

According to information published on Unikal.az on April 7, 2025, the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) has imposed a temporary restriction on the import of tomatoes from Iran.

During inspections conducted by the AFSA, a batch of tomatoes imported by the company Hadi Porreza from the Islamic Republic of Iran was found to be contaminated with the Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV).

As a result, a temporary ban has been placed on the import of products from this specific producer. The article suggests that the ban applies only to this particular producer from Iran and not to all tomato imports from Iran.

The AFSA has sent a notification regarding the import restriction to the relevant controlling authorities.
