Uzbekistan boosts apple exports fivefold

Uzbekistan has sharply increased its apple exports at the start of 2025. According to the country's National Statistics Committee, 1,600 tons of apples worth $935,000 were exported in January–February, five times more than in the same period last year.

Russia remained the top importer, purchasing 1,000 tons of Uzbek apples. Kazakhstan followed with 341 tons, while Turkmenistan imported 149 tons. Smaller shipments were also sent to Mongolia and several other countries.

The growth is linked to a rise in apple production and better logistics. Uzbek farmers are investing more in orchards, helping to boost export volumes. Uzbekistan is working to grow its presence in the global fruit market by offering affordable, good-quality produce.

Uzbekistan ranks among the world's top 10 apple producers. Its favorable climate allows for the cultivation of uniquely flavored apple varieties that are highly valued abroad.
