Auchan will not withdraw from the Chinese market

Auchan China convert stores to the RT-Mart model

Recently, Auchan China announced on its official Weibo website that it will not withdraw from the Chinese market and will continue to carry out in-depth new retail integration and exploration in China.

The French Auchan Group was founded in 1961 and its main businesses include hypermarkets, supermarkets, banks, commercial real estate and e-commerce. Auchan Retail entered China in 1999 and opened its first large-scale store in Yangpu District, Shanghai. As of June 2018, it has 75 large stores and a boutique supermarket Hi-Auchan.

Apart from helping the company's five stores to change their business models, brands, legal entities, employee labor relations and personnel will remain unchanged.

On December 5th, it was reported that Auchan China decided to convert five stores in South China to the RT-Mart model. These five stores include: Guangzhou Fafa Store, Dongguan Store, Zhaoqing Huaiji Store, Fujian Fuqing Store and Meizhou Xingning shop.
