China: Nanhui peaches underway to Singapore

Pudong is a district of Shanghai located east of the Huangpu River. Now, the city’s first batch of local yellow peaches -200 kilograms- has been exported to Singapore on Saturday after passing inspection by local customs on Friday. The peaches will be sold in high-end supermarkets in Singapore.

According to the manager of the peach orchard, even sending this volume was a challenge during the Coronavirus outbreak. In the future, they are willing to send more fruit overseas.

Local fruits, including citrus, honey peaches and grapes from Chongming District, have been sold in other countries since 1986. Shanghai Customs said it will remain focused on developing a quicker but stricter way for the verification of fruit intended for export.
