Citrus harvest begins in North Iran

Farmers have begun harvesting citrus fruits from orchards in northern Iranian Mazandaran Province. The harvest season continues till early February.

This year’s crops are of good quality due to favorable weather conditions. Authorities predict over 584 thousand tonnes of oranges will be produced in Mazandaran this year. Some of the products will be exported while the remainder will be sold domestically.

The Northern Iranian Province of Mazandaran is a major pole for the cultivation of citrus fruits.
