Flooding destroys onion crops across Afghanistan

Major flooding has affected several parts of Afghanistan; the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock said that onions are among the crops hit hard by the floods. Mirwais Hajizada, deputy head of Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock: "Due to floods in several provinces, our agriculture sector has been damaged. The farmers suffered as a lot of agricultural land was affected, particularly the harvests of wheat and onions.”

The floods hit the provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Laghman, Panjshir, Parwan, Kabul, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Bamiyan, Ghazni, Logar, Samangan, Sar-e-Pul, Takhar, Paktia, Khost and Daikundi as well as the Salang area.
