The Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (Asoex) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Municipal Trade Bureau of Dalian, China, in order to promote the construction of the Chile-Dalian fruit import corridor.
This corridor will allow a more expeditious flow of Chilean fresh fruits, especially to northwest China, but also to Japan, South Korea, and other regions of northwest Asia. This is through the "container + bulk + international transshipment" joint operation model.
“We believe that this is a very positive agreement, as it allows us to improve the reception and distribution of our fresh fruits in the northwest and north of China; allowing us to diversify destinations within the Chinese market. Likewise, both parties have committed to promoting mutual cooperation, as well as to providing timely and effective support in relation to this cooperation. Thus, this agreement will help increase the Chilean cherries and other fresh fruits market share in northern and northwestern China,” stated Ivan Marambio, president of Asoex.
The MoU was signed by representatives of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce of Dalian that visited the offices of Asoex. The parties also agreed to promote the construction of a Chilean cherry distribution center in Northwest Asia.
