Citra Tama Jaya Indo was established in 2016. At first, its services were dedicated to the food service industry. Then overseas markets were developed.
Stevan Budi Susanto introduces the company's production in Indonesia: "Our mangosteen plantations have an area of 3600 hectares. They are located in the Tasikmalaya, Padang and Banyuwangi areas. Our strawberry farm has an area of 200 hectares. We currently export to China, South Korea and Hong Kong. China is one of our biggest markets."
Stevan Budi Susanto is excited about the opportunities for Indonesian mangosteen to global markets
At the moment the company does not sell under its own brand but supports other brands.
Stevan continues: "Apart from mangosteen, we also export frozen strawberries to South Korea as well as Vaname Shrimp".
Regarding mangosteen, the company plants grade 1 and grade 2 varieties: "Grade 1 has 0-10% skin dots, with fresh leaves, grade 2 has 30-40% bad skin with fresh leaves. There are also several types of mangosteen sizes, namely 2a, 3a, 4a, 5a, and 6a. 6a is the largest size. The season for mangosteen from the Padang regions starts in August through to January. From the Bogor and Pati regions the season runs from February to April. Finally the Banyuwangi region has mangosteen in June and July," continues Stevan: "The quality of the year's harvest has slightly decreased in terms of quantity. Quality-wise its very much the same as last year".
"The price of mangosteen on international markets is similar to last year. Prices can be unstable depending on the quantity harvested and the weather," he concludes.
