Mumbai traders look to export UP mango varieties to other countries

Uttar Pradesh accounts for 23% of total mango production in the country, which is more than 4.8 mln tons of the total production of over 27.9 mln tons in the country. Lucknow, Saharanpur and Meerut are main mango producing regions. Now, mango traders and exporters in Mumbai are looking to export various mango varieties from UP to other countries. In a mango buyer/seller meet that took place in Mumbai yesterday, Dussehra, Chausa, Langda were among the varieties from UP that were exhibited in the mango exhibition that was held on the occasion.

Minister of state for Horticulture Dinesh Singh said that any exporters who are interested, can get in contact with mango growers in UP directly to procure the fruits and also seek help from the department.
