Veteran air-cargo manager's 35 years of sending fresh produce across Asia

Hong Kong's airline, Cathay Pacific's veteran air-cargo manager Shuichi Ueba is now in his 35th year for the company and has seen it all. As the Regional Head of Cargo for Japan and Korea he is in charge of sending fresh produce to Japan and South Korea and the rest of the region.

Fresh fruit makes up a large proportion of the 20 weekly Cathay Cargo freighters to and from Japan. The country imports premium fruit for domestic consumption, with less people growing fruit. Korea on the other hand sends a lot of perishables that include fruit to Hong Kong and Southeast Asia via the airline.

He also ensures that the passenger planes are filled with produce as well as other imports and exports.
