In the Turkestan Region, Kazakhstan, banana cultivation has gained momentum with the ambitious efforts of "Gen group Qazaqstan." Recently, the region's governor, Darhan Satybaldy, met with the founders of the company to discuss the future of the agricultural sector in the area.
The Turkish company has erected a 5.3-hectare greenhouse complex in the Sayram District dedicated to banana cultivation, aiming to yield over 1,000 tons annually. Entrepreneurs Timur Uteshov and Abdulla Ismailov, the brains behind the project, expressed their intention to double the complex's size, investing a groundbreaking 19.4 billion tenge in this unparalleled venture.
The visionary entrepreneurs plan to expand beyond bananas, with future endeavours involving the cultivation of exotic fruits such as mangoes and avocados. The greenhouse also hosts strawberries and tomatoes, with cucumbers and blueberries in the pipeline.
Constructed with cutting-edge technology and equipped with a sophisticated heat control system, the greenhouse aligns with the region's commitment to agricultural diversification, a focal point emphasized by Governor Satybaldy. Additionally, discussions during the meeting addressed the expansion of the food belt around Turkestan, including support for banana cultivation enterprises.
