Surge in Chinese fruit imports in Priamurye

In the first half of 2023, the Priamurye region has experienced a remarkable surge in the import of Chinese pineapples, with the volume increasing ninefold. Over 176 tons of pineapples flowed through the Kani-Kurgan checkpoint from China to Priamurye during this period.

The spike in fruit imports from China to the region can be attributed to the commencement of operations at the Kani-Kurgan customs and logistics terminal in 2023.

Experts from Rosselkhoznadzor note a significant increase in the import of fruits. Compared to the figures for 2022, pineapple shipments have surged by nine times, mandarins by fifteen times, oranges by four times, and lemons by five times.

Throughout the current period, Rosselkhoznadzor has monitored the importing of approximately 40,000 tons of fruit and vegetable products from China to Priamurye. The effective control measures ensure that all imported goods meet the required standards and comply with quarantine regulations.
