The Union of Cooperative Societies in Kuwait, led by President Musab Al-Mulla, has launched a fresh initiative to improve price control in cooperative societies for essential commodities, fruits, and vegetables. Al-Mulla announced this in a press statement, detailing the Union's engagement with the Ministries of Trade, Industry, and Social Affairs to propose a novel concept under the "Sahel" program.
This initiative seeks to streamline the monitoring of prices for basic goods in each cooperative society, ensuring uniformity and minimal price differences. Al-Mulla stated that this approach would allow shareholders to compare prices from their homes, promoting transparency. The "Sahel" system would be used to update prices, thereby eliminating disparities.
Al-Mulla underscored that this initiative aligns with the Union's social responsibility and commitment to its members' welfare. He added that this system would enable various entities, including price monitors and inspectors, to keep a check on prices. The Union also has numerous other ideas aimed at benefiting citizens, which will be presented to the relevant authorities for implementation.
