The United States secures the second position, contributing over 405 thousand tons annually. Iran completes the top three, with an annual production exceeding 255.6 thousand tons.
Following closely are Turkey, Burkina Faso, and Mexico at the fourth, fifth, and sixth spots, respectively. Ukraine holds the seventh position, surpassing Chile, Romania, and France. Ukraine's average annual walnut production from 1994 to 2022 stands at over 87.2 thousand tons.
According to FAOSTAT, Asia dominates global walnut production, accounting for 57% of the total output. The Americas contribute 25.5%, while Europe and Africa make up 14.4% and 3%, respectively. The remaining 0.1% of global production is concentrated in Oceania.
