In 2023, Azerbaijan witnessed a remarkable surge in cherry exports, marking a 21.2% increase compared to the previous year, according to data released by the State Statistical Committee and reported by "Interfax-Azerbaijan". The country exported a total of 35,599 tons of fresh cherries, generating a revenue of $44,555,000, reflecting a 7% rise in income from exports.
The Russian market remained the primary destination for Azerbaijani sweet cherries. Specifically, Azerbaijan exported 35,255 tons to Russia in 2023, indicating a significant increase of 21.4% compared to the previous year. This amounted to $44,135,610 in revenue, representing a 6.3% growth. Overall, Russian imports accounted for 99% of Azerbaijan's total cherry and sweet cherry exports.
In 2022, Azerbaijan exported 29,203 tons of cherry and sweet cherry, amounting to $41,638,610 in revenue.
