In Turkistan, a fruit berry processing workshop has been inaugurated with the support of the Science Fund of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Located within the university's botanical garden, this workshop is part of the commercialization project "Preservation of valuable botanical gene pool through commercial exploitation of bioresources based on innovative technologies."
Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, the workshop aims to conserve resources and produce zero-waste products. Activities include washing, slicing, drying, sorting, packaging, and storing fruits. The facility can process 5–7 tons of produce per day.
After familiarizing himself with the workshop's operations and scientific projects, the minister wished success to the new centre. The production workshop plans to manufacture dried apples, pears, apricots, and other products for export.
