María José Sánchez, Director of Fruit Attraction:

"This year, Fruit Attraction will surpass all previous figures"

The 6th Spanish Potato Congress, held recently in Seville and organized by Asociafruit and FEPEX, was the stage chosen for the presentation of the new edition of Fruit Attraction 2024. As explained by María José Sánchez, the fair's director, the 2023 edition concluded with 103,868 professional participants from 145 countries, and the 2,000 exhibitors from 56 countries covered a space of 64,400 m² across 9 halls. "This year, once again, Fruit Attraction will be bigger than ever, surpassing all previous figures."

"For the 16th edition, which will take place from October 8 to 10, 2024, we expect the exhibition space to grow from 64,400 m² to 70,000 m². The number of exhibitors will increase with the addition of a new hall to host the new Innova & Tech area, which will be added to the already existing areas devoted to Fresh Produce, the Auxiliary Industry and Fresh Food Logistics."

"At Fruit Attraction, we understand that innovation is essential and critical for the sector. It is now and will continue to be so in the coming years, as there are many significant challenges in the fruit and vegetable sector that can be addressed through innovation, and that's why we believe the fair must reflect its importance for the sector."

"In this edition, we will again have a program with a wide range of activities and sessions, including Grape Attraction, the Biofruit Congress, Fresh Food Logistics The Summit, the Innovation Hub, the Chef Factory and Fruit Next. Of course, we will also bring back the Life Connect, a virtual tool featuring new functionalities each year and meant to facilitate contact and schedule meetings."

"We also believe it is of vital importance to maintain the buyer program, in which we are making a significant investment to bring major buyers from different markets who will be interesting for companies in the fresh produce sector," says María José, recalling that last year Madrid was visited by 700 major buyers from a total of 66 countries in the framework of this program.

"This year, the guest importing countries at Fruit Attraction will be China and Saudi Arabia, which have already confirmed their attendance, and the flagship product will be avocados, so specific initiatives will be organized to promote the opening of markets and the development of boost strategies for companies."

"I wished to highlight that having a fair of this size in our country is a tremendous opportunity for the sector, and that's why we encourage companies to be present once more at Fruit Attraction."
