In Bắc Giang Province, Lục Nam District is recognized for its significant contribution to the region's agriculture through its pineapple production. The district has emerged as a crucial area for pineapple cultivation in the northern part of Vietnam, attracting visitors with its unique fruit variety. Local cultivator Vi Văn Thùy, with over two decades of experience, highlighted the fruit's distinct taste and aroma, attributing these characteristics to the adherence to VietGAP standards. This cultivation approach ensures high-quality produce, contributing to the stable income of the local populace.
The application of VietGAP techniques, including the use of disease-free seeds and appropriate fertilization, has resulted in profitable yields for farmers like Thùy, who reported annual earnings of VNĐ200,000. The Lục Nam pineapple has also been acknowledged under the OCOP initiative and recognized as a specialty of Bắc Giang Province. Tourist Hoàng Anh Thái from Hà Nội described the pineapple fields as an appealing destination for visitors, offering a picturesque landscape ideal for photography, especially from early July to mid-August.
