Unseasonal rains impact mango crops in Telangana

In Telangana, a preliminary report by Jangaon horticulture officials indicated that unseasonal rains and hailstorms have led to damage across at least 400 acres of mango crops. The adverse weather conditions, occurring Sunday night, also affected farmers in Hanamkonda, Jangaon, and Mulugu districts, where paddy, red chilli, and maize crops were being harvested. Notably, significant damage to mango crops was reported in Bheemadevarapally in Hanamkonda district and several mandals in Jangaon district.

Farmers, engaged in harvesting the Rabi season paddy crop in Warangal, Mulugu, and Jangaon districts, faced losses as hailstorms rendered the paddy unsuitable for procurement. Despite their efforts to sell the produce at Indira Kranthi Patham (IKP) centers, the damaged crops complicated the process.
