Over 400 Kenyan youths have embarked on seasonal employment in the United Kingdom, with an additional 1,000 prospects in sight, as disclosed by the Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu.
Selected through the Youth Enterprise Development Fund and various educational institutions, these individuals are part of a program designed to bolster both local and international agricultural expertise.
A recent visit to Staples Vegetables in the UK by officials from Kenya's State Department of Diaspora Affairs underscores the ongoing commitment to this partnership. The program emphasizes the return of participants to Kenya, where they are expected to leverage their newfound skills in local ventures. Applications for the program are processed exclusively through HOPS Labour Solutions Limited, in association with the Youth Enterprise Development Fund, ensuring a transparent and equitable selection process.
