Multinational introduces new strawberry varieties in Peru

Ekland Marketing Company (Emco CAL) has introduced new strawberry varieties in Peru. Peruvian producers have adopted the strawberry Sensation from this multinational, which maintains an active research and development department to adapt to farmers' preferences and offer high quality standards for consumers.

The company collaborated with the PeruFrut Nursery to produce the first batch of strawberry seedlings of the Sensation variety. The plants have been multiplied using a novel propagation system, ensuring that stolons never touch the ground. This method ensures maximum quality and plant health.

This approach provides an opportunity for Peruvian producers, who lose millions of plants annually due to poor plant material health. It will also meet the demand for plants from farmers in this Ibero-American country, a major red fruit producer.

The Peruvian strawberry sector will now have access to University of Florida varieties, represented by Emco CAL, both from abroad and domestically. Ekland Marketing Company, Inc. (EMCO CAL) operates in 70 countries.
