MapleJet, a Canadian manufacturer of inkjet systems for a wide range of applications, announces the establishment of its new European subsidiary in Bergheim, Germany. Under the name MapleJet Europe, the Bergheim location will serve as a hub for sales and marketing throughout Europe. The 'HX Nitro' printing solution in particular is becoming increasingly popular in Europe, observes Frank Rüttgers. With his company MARKING AND MORE, the Managing Director has been closely associated with MapleJet for many years and will transfer the company to MapleJet Europe.
"In the past two years of sales activities for MapleJet in Germany, we have realised that MapleJet's products have a very high level of acceptance in the market. We have been able to steadily increase the number of projects and penetrate sectors in which we were not previously active. We also quickly realised that it is very important for MapleJet to incorporate customer feedback into future developments and make adjustments where necessary. Thanks to the high reliability of the devices, we are also not in the situation of having to reorganise ourselves technically," says Rüttgers.

Postponement of activities for new projects
As part of the reorganisation, the brand name MARKING AND MORE will be removed from the market. Rüttgers: "When the label was founded in 1997, we had no intention of operating on a global or European scale. This has now changed. We will continue to serve all existing customers with our complete range and also market all consumables in the usual way. As we are responsible for the distribution of MapleJet printers throughout Germany and also want to build up the dealer network in Europe, we are postponing our activities for new projects."
The focus is still on the German market, where demand is very high. "At FachPack in Nuremberg, we will be actively looking for strategic sales partners in Germany and other European countries for the first time. So far, we have also sold MapleJet printers to Austria, Switzerland and Hungary. However, to be honest, we cannot serve these markets comprehensively from here."
"The market is clearly trending towards products that are easy to use, have a high level of connectivity, are affordable and still meet a high standard. Not many products have these characteristics. But the 'HX Nitro' certainly does. The challenge now is to put all these good features to good use. Thanks to our decades of experience with a wide range of labelling technologies, it is not difficult for us to place the devices there. Many of our customers are surprised at what the printers can do and what applications they can be used for. Even we were surprised at first," explains Rüttgers.

Project support from afar
The trade fair debut at expoSE 2023 resulted in numerous enquiries, direct sales and business relationships with industry colleagues. "We were able to place the 'HX Nitro' for batch labelling of potatoes and asparagus. Thanks to the close cooperation with BANDALL, we are automatically moving into other areas." Despite a lack of experience in the fruit and vegetable sector, the first projects got off to a perfect start. "Due to time constraints, we had to solve a labelling solution in Switzerland completely remotely without ever having been to the customer. They sent us samples, and we came up with a solution. This solution was implemented and assembled in our company, and we then shot a few videos for commissioning and dispatched the system. It all worked perfectly."
