On June 27, Lexus Durian King in Hougang gave away 1,000kg of durians worth $15,000 in just 2.5 hours. The giveaway included premium Musang King and other varieties, attracting a long queue before the event began at 3pm. The stall, located at 1001 Upper Serangoon Road, initially offered $5 durians to Pioneer Generation and CHAS card holders on June 25. Due to overwhelming enthusiasm, they decided to give away one durian and a bottle of water to these groups, plus the Merdeka Generation. Owner Stella Soh organized the event to help families struggling with high durian prices and spread joy in challenging times.
