New Jersey 2023 cranberry crop came in at 580,000 barrels

In 2023, New Jersey's cranberry sector reported a harvest of 580,000 barrels, marking an increase from the 563,000 barrels harvested in 2022. The state's cranberry production was valued at $20.0 million, with a total of 2,900 acres harvested and an average yield of 200.1 barrels per acre. The utilized production for the year was 579,000 barrels, with the price per barrel averaging at $34.60.

Comparatively, Wisconsin, the leading cranberry producing state, saw a production of 5.01 million barrels, a 4% increase from the previous year. Massachusetts experienced a decrease in production by 13%, totaling 1.97 million barrels. Meanwhile, Oregon's production rose to 550,000 barrels, up from 417,000 barrels in 2022.

Overall, the United States cranberry production for the 2023 season was 8.11 million barrels, showing a 1% increase from the 2022 crop year.
