Nino Di Cavolo announces Frutech - Mediterranean Fruit & Vegetable Expo

Sicily's largest fruit and vegetable exhibition slowly coming into view

From 28 to 30 November 2024, Frutech, the most important Mediterranean event dedicated to the fruit and vegetable sector and the technological innovations that have improved and renewed companies in the sector over the years, will take place at the SiciliaFiera exhibition centre in Misterbianco (Sicily).

The aim is to promote the products and the production systems, the machinery and all those aspects that are related to the agri-food sector and that are produced in the whole of Italy. A special focus is placed on organic production and the direction of economic growth in the industry in general. During the three days, networking activities, meetings and round tables will take place in what is expected to be the largest exhibition in Southern Italy, in the heart of the Mediterranean. One of the highlights of this fair will be the comfortable exhibition areas, but above all the proximity (just a few minutes away) to the international airport of Catania, which will make it easy to reach the event from Italy and abroad.

Protected horticulture in the spotlight
Frutech Sales Director Rosario Sallemi: "Sicily has so much to offer in the field of agriculture and related technologies. It is a land rich in typical products. Thanks to SiciliaFiera, we have the opportunity to organize an exhibition dedicated to agriculture, covering everything from seeds to fruit production and machinery for cultivation. Our intention was to give a place to dried fruits: pistachios, almonds, carob and hazelnuts. Special attention will be paid to protected horticulture, which provides early fruits at any time of the year. In this regard, conferences will be organized together with the President of the Technical and Scientific Committee, Professor of General Arboriculture and Tree Crops at the University of Catania, Alessandra Gentile. This is the beginning of a great challenge for us."

The future is in the soil
Agriculture and technology are the perfect combination for the development of excellent products in the fruit and vegetable sector and in the agri-industrial sector. The President of SiciliaFiera, Nino Di Cavolo, says: "Our centre is the ideal place to offer and organize fairs that express the best of our territory, without forgetting that we are in the centre of the Mediterranean, in a fertile land rich in the most prestigious references. It is our duty to promote them. Sicily, in order to further develop its supply chains and companies in the sector, deserves the most modern and up-to-date agricultural and technical machinery.

There will be a billboard full of cultural, educational and informative activities related to the world of agriculture, PGI products, Agriculture 4.0."
