Kyrgyzstan focuses on plum processing and export

During a visit to the Osh region, Kyrgyz Minister of Agriculture, Bakyt Torobaev, convened a meeting with representatives from the plum processing and export sector. The agenda covered the analysis of plum export, sale, and production metrics, leading to the formulation of several strategic decisions. Torobaev emphasized the government's commitment to bolster the agricultural processing sector and assured support for entrepreneurs and farmers in this domain.

The discussions also touched upon the development of new facilities for plum processing and prune production in the Aksy and Ala-Buka districts within the Jalal-Abad region. The meeting outlined the provision of preferential loans aimed at supporting these initiatives. Furthermore, the potential expansion of plum exports to China, Turkey, and Uzbekistan was explored, highlighting the strategic direction for Kyrgyzstan's plum industry.
