Roy Peters, Sous Fresh Logistics:

"We are further expanding our service to food service customers"

Venlo Verpakking & Verlading (VV&V) has been operating as an independent company since 1 April 2024 under the new name: Sous Fresh Logistics. "With this strategic change, we want to further unburden our clients and improve efficiency in processes," says director Roy Peters of Sous Fresh and Sous Fresh Logistics. "We have experienced strong growth in recent years, and with confidence in our customers and markets, we have chosen to focus entirely on providing service to our customers."

"Since 2016, VV&V has proven itself as a reliable partner for external parties. Now the time has come to present our logistics expertise even more prominently to the market," Roy says. "The new direction of Sous Fresh Logistics builds on the core strengths that form the basis of the company. Our strategic location, our own fleet of trucks, our efficient order picking system and the high level of service the foodservice industry expects from us are our main unique selling points. We asked ourselves how we could leverage these points to gain a competitive advantage."

"We act as a service provider for our customers, seeking to completely unburden them when it comes to fresh fruit and vegetables. In doing so, we see the demand for processed product increasing. Chefs are increasingly looking for convenience products, partly due to staff shortages, and are having more and more products brought in cut. As a logistics service provider, we can bundle these products and provide our customers with a wide range of fresh goods on a daily basis."

"In response to these market developments, we are introducing Sous Fresh Logistics as a new logistics concept. Here, we combine the cold chain of unprocessed fruit and vegetables with that of processed products (convenience), making it easier for customers to add processed products to their assortment. Our trucks, equipped with double compartments and two temperature zones, ensure optimal temperature control during transport, and we work with customised cell layouts."

"We are excited about the opportunities this new initiative offers. By maximising our service level and focusing on innovative solutions, we believe we can further strengthen our position in the food service industry. We have traditionally had a strong position in the German catering wholesale sector, but are now expanding to other European countries, as we still see significant growth potential internationally. With this sharper focus, we expect even stronger growth," concludes Peters.
