Agri-tech startup Mulyam supports 3000 farmers, supplies over 12,000 metric tons of onions in 10 months

Mulyam has facilitated the distribution of 12,000 metric tons of onions throughout India over the last 10 months. This development reflects Mulyam's expansion and its support for farmers and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across the country.

Since its establishment in 2023, Mulyam has become recognized in India for its focus on fresh commodities. As a self-funded startup, Mulyam reported a revenue of Rs 75 crore and a positive EBITDA shortly after its launch in April 2023. The company is aiming for a revenue of Rs 120 crore in the fiscal year 2024-25. In its effort to create a comprehensive B2B marketplace, Mulyam plans to connect with 150,000 farmers by the end of the fiscal year 2025, supported by a team of over 40 professionals.

With a network of 3000 farmers from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, Mulyam has procured and delivered over 22,000 metric tons of vegetables and fruits, including onions, potatoes, tomatoes, lemon, garlic, ginger, apples, and oranges, to quick commerce companies, modern traders, HoReCa, and institutional firms.

Mulyam distinguishes itself by utilizing technology to offer extensive support to farmers, improving the supply process of their goods. The platform collaborates closely with farmers and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to enhance the agricultural supply chain efficiency. By incorporating internet-based technology, implementing robust sourcing strategies, and employing a dedicated team of professionals, Mulyam aims to achieve rapid growth while focusing on the delivery of fresh produce efficiently and with high quality.

Commenting on this notable growth within one year of its operations, Yogesh Kedari, Founder and CEO of Mulyam, said, "We believe that the biggest challenge for horticulture in India is market linkage. We or any other agritech company working in perishables, can help farmers with a lot of backend support, such as advisory on production, procurement of inputs like pesticides and fertilizers, procurement of planting materials, weather prediction, mechanization of work, and more. While we help them increase their yield, the real value lies in market linkage. Mulyam is committed to build solid market linkage platform for all farmers irrespective of their farm size, supporting farmers with market linkage through technology and innovation. Our primary goal is to help farmers sell their produce in the same ecosystem removing the middlemen's and supporting them with data for trade, allowing them to earn better margins and take advantage of geographical price arbitrage."
