Average weekly wholesale prices of bananas by country of origin

Bananas from Belize come in at £1,06 in the UK

This series gives the average wholesale prices of bananas by country of origin. The prices are national averages of the most usual prices charged for bananas at wholesale markets in Birmingham and London. All prices are in pounds (£) per kg.

The current average week prices of bananas were at £1,06 for bananas from Belize, up 3% compared to last week, with bananas from Costa Rica increasing by 2% to £1,00 this week. Bananas from Panama came in at £1.01 / kg, up 1% compared to last week. Ecuadorian bananas sold for £0,98, while bananas from Guatemala cost £0,95 this week.
