In the Victory Garden, an intensive orchard established after the start of the war in Ukraine, located in the Ternopil region, one of the most expensive apple varieties in the world is being harvested.
This orchard is part of the "Gadz" farming enterprise, which is the largest apple producer in Ukraine. The orchard uses modern technologies, including irrigation systems and anti-hail nets, to ensure the highest quality produce. Here, they grow environmentally friendly Gala apples, which are exported abroad and sold within Ukraine.
In addition to apples, the enterprise is expanding its operations to include cherries, currants, and pears. The cherries and currants are planned to be processed into juices, which are highly popular in the market. According to the founder of the enterprise, Petro Gadz, these crops generate a good income because they can be easily harvested using machinery, and there is a strong demand for them.
Summer pear varieties, such as Carmen and Williams, will be sold on the domestic market. Since Ukraine primarily grows winter pear varieties, there is almost no competition in the summer segment, offering significant opportunities for farmers.
