Ten years of Seed meets Technology: 'No more manual counting in two years' time'

Seed meets Technology is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Also this anniversary edition, international trade visitors knew how to find the exhibition hall at Vertify in Zwaagdijk, the Netherlands.

"We need new things," said Johan Kos during the exhibitor drinks after the second fair day. After ten editions, the director of fair organization Vertify can say that these 'new things' can be found at Seed meets Technology every year.

Don't expect large crowds of people in Zwaagdijk. The fair is the place where real trade visitors come to be informed about the latest techniques and developments. One of those developments is an ever-increasing degree of mechanization and automation, for example in counting and phenotyping.

One of the exhibitors expressed the expectation that manually counting trays to see which plant has emerged will be a thing of the past. With image recognition software, more and more can be done.

In addition to an exhibition floor with around 40 exhibitors, a growing number of presentations were held during the fair. Did you miss a presentation? After the fair, the presentations will also be available online.

The past ten years, the fair has grown and become increasingly international, with the first Asian exhibitor being present at the tenth edition. However, it remains to have a considerable Dutch element. Find the mill in Wednesday afternoon's photo report (in Dutch).
