On October 2, Oishii introduced its Koyo Berry to the Chicago area. The perfectly ripe and always-in-season berries will be available at 25 Whole Foods Market stores in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.
The Koyo Berry – meaning "elated" in Japanese – was introduced in February 2023 and is marked by its red hue, sweetness, balanced acidity, and firm texture. Oishii Berries are grown in indoor vertical farms and are pesticide-free, non-GMO, and always in season.
For everyday snacking, Oishii's Koyo Berries are available for $9.99 MSRP for a standard tray – 11 medium or 8 large berries. To celebrate the brand's expansion to Chicago, Oishii will partner with renowned Chicago culinary institutions, like Omakase Yume and Sawada Coffee, to bring their berries to Chicagoans.
From early September to the end of October, Michelin-starred restaurant Omakase Yume will feature Oishii Berries on their tasting menu in an Oishii Matcha Panna Cotta and an Oishii Berry Shooter that features a whole Oishii Omakase Berry followed by an Omakase Berry spritz.
For coffee lovers, Sawada will be serving the Oishii Matcha Latte, combining a blend of housemade Oishii Koyo Berry syrup, fresh Sawada matcha, milk & garnished with a fresh Oishii Omakase Berry, and the Oishii Mocha, a blend of housemade Oishii Koyo Berry syrup, Project X espresso, chocolate, milk & garnished with a fresh Oishii Omakase Berry. The limited-edition drinks will be available from September 26th to October 10th.
Oishii's Koyo Berries will be available in select Whole Foods Market stores beginning October 2, 2024.
