Over 90,000 tons of grapes harvested in Tajikistan by early October

By October 4, the country had harvested a total of 340,941 tons of fruit, including 92,538 tons of grapes, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Tajikistan has dedicated 206,535 hectares to orchards and vineyards, of which 39,922 hectares are vineyards. By August 1, 495 hectares of orchards and 25.8 hectares of vineyards had been newly established, while 219 hectares of orchards and 32.5 hectares of vineyards were restored.

On September 30, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, the Government held a session during which the "Program for the Development of Horticulture, Viticulture, and Citrus Growing in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029" was adopted. The program aims to develop horticulture and viticulture, ensure food security for the population, supply raw materials to enterprises, boost export potential, and reduce the country's dependence on imported food products.
