Ukraine sees rising costs for cucumbers and tomatoes across markets

In Ukraine, the pricing dynamics for cucumbers and tomatoes across various retail platforms have been monitored by sources including "Hvylya", the Minfin portal, the Capital Market, and the Odessa market "Pochatok". As winter approaches, an upward trend in the costs of these vegetables is observed, reflective of seasonal patterns. Supermarkets, for instance, list cucumbers at 82.99 UAH/kg, a notable increase from the previous month's 66.37 UAH/kg. Different cucumber varieties such as smooth, long-fruited, and prickly are available at varied prices, reaching up to 94.10 UAH/kg. Tomatoes also exhibit a price range, with pink tomatoes priced at 99.90 UAH/kg and top tomatoes at 75.43 UAH/kg.

At the Capital Market, cucumber prices fluctuate between 70 UAH/kg and 80 UAH/kg, while tomatoes range from 55.00 UAH/kg to a higher bracket for yellow tomatoes, peaking at 115.00 UAH/kg. The Odessa market "Pochatok" presents a different scenario, especially in wholesale, where cucumber prices vary from 60 to 90 UAH per kilo and field red tomatoes start at 18 UAH per kilo, with cherry tomatoes reaching 120 UAH per kilo.
