In the first nine months of 2024, officials from the North Caucasus Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor inspected over 200,000 tons of high phytosanitary risk products at the "Verkhny Lars" border crossing in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. This marks a 17% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
A total of 185,600 tons of products were imported into the Russian Federation, while 14,900 tons were in transit to other Customs Union countries and beyond.
The primary exporting countries were Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey. Armenia's top exports included apricots, tomatoes, apples, peppers, and plums.
From Georgia, key imports were nectarines, mandarins, peaches, plums, and blueberries.
Turkey supplied nectarines, peaches, nuts, and grapes, with Turkish exports rising by more than 30% compared to the same period last year.
