The European banana market exhibited a mix of stability and fluctuations in wholesale prices between weeks 45 and 46, with notable differences across various countries.
In Belgium (BE), prices remained steady at €96 per kilogram during both weeks, showing no recorded changes. Similarly, Bulgaria (BG) maintained stable pricing at approximately €132.94 per kilogram, reflecting consistency in the market.
However, Poland (PL) experienced a significant decline of 8%, with prices dropping from €112 to €103 per kilogram. This marked the most substantial reduction among the countries analyzed, indicating potential market pressures or changes in demand and supply dynamics.
Finland (FI) also recorded a price decrease, though less dramatic, with a 5% decline from €123 to €117 per kilogram. Meanwhile, Slovakia (SK) showed the highest positive change during this period, with prices increasing by 13% from €125 to €141 per kilogram, reflecting strong market performance.
These trends illustrate a varied pricing landscape across European countries, with some regions maintaining stability while others face significant shifts, underscoring the complexities of the banana wholesale market in Europe.
