RedSayra strawberry variety sees promising results across Mediterranean regions

In addition to its already consolidated success in Huelva, RedSayra is giving good yields in other countries such as Italy, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt. In these countries, the first fruits of this variety have already been seen in pots. Also in bare root, as is the case in Egypt.

This is only the third commercial season of one of the varieties. We are talking about Planasa's RedSayra which, as well as enjoying considerable success in Spain, is also beginning to do so in other countries in the Mediterranean area. This is the case in Morocco, Italy, Egypt, and Jordan, where the yield and the first results of the variety in pot format are proving to be more than promising.

In these locations, planting was carried out between the 15th and 25th of September, and already a few weeks ago, the first harvests began with good-quality of fruit. In addition to this manifest precocity, the feedback received from the growers coincides with pointing out that the establishment and development of the plant have been excellent from the very first moment. Quality and hardiness are key traits to obtaining two main advantages: cost reduction and early production, thanks to a low percentage of replanting.

It should be noted that, in the case of Egypt, planting has been carried out in bare-root format. The sensations that the variety is leaving in the African country are equally positive in terms of hardiness, earliness, and behavior of the plant from the nursery.

Although the campaign has only just begun, the truth is that Planasa's expectations are more than good and the company is confident that this year will be a turning point for the variety in different geographical areas.
