The first Chilean Cherry Express of the 2024–25 season arrived at the port on December 8, with the first container of cherries reaching Guangzhou Jiangnan Market later that evening. To celebrate the occasion, the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association and Guangzhou JNH Wholesale Market hosted a grand welcome ceremony, officially marking the start of the Chilean cherry shipping season for the 2024–25 production cycle.
The inaugural container of cherries was handled by Faikee Fruit Limited. Mr. Zheng Junfeng, a representative from the company, shared details about the shipment: "This express line carries approximately 240–250 containers of cherries, roughly double the volume of the first shipment last year. The first container, which arrived at the market last night, was supplied by a Chilean exporter, Garces Fruit. It primarily included Santina varieties in JD and 2JD specifications, packaged in 5KG boxes. Upon arrival, the cherries showed excellent firmness. The first container was sold on the same night. We have a total of seven containers in this express shipment."

By December 9, additional containers had reached the market, with around 33 containers made available for sale that morning. The shipment comprised mainly early and mid-season cherry varieties, most of which exhibited a deep red color. As for pricing, sea-freight cherries have yet to stabilize. The Santina variety in 2*2.5KG JD packaging was priced at approximately ¥450 per box, while the 2JD specification ranged between ¥480 and ¥530 per box. Compared to the first shipment of the previous year, market prices are notably lower. The arrival of sea-freight cherries has also begun to impact the pricing of air-freighted cherries. Although the remaining stock of air-freighted cherries is limited, traders are closely monitoring market dynamics.
