Varieties more resistant to climate change thanks to artificial intelligence?

Using artificial intelligence to develop varieties that are more resistant and easier to grow, all without genetic manipulation? That is the promise made by Avalo, an American start-up based in North Carolina.

Using an algorithm, artificial intelligence will identify the chosen resistant gene (heat, for example) in different varieties. The algorithm will then indicate the 'best varieties' to achieve the desired result. For the company, this is no more and no less than reproducing what has already been done for thousands of years, but much more quickly by speeding up the process.
