"Whether it's sliced or used in a variety of dishes, pineapple has become a staple in homes all over the world, especially at festive times like Christmas," says Virginia Cascella, export manager for PND, an Italian company that manufactures machinery and high-tech equipment for the fresh-cut industry.

As the year draws to a close, a new cutting tool for this globally appreciated and consumed fruit is being released. Virginia Cascella explains the main features of this innovative machine: "The MPC tabletop cutter is dedicated to the pineapple process and has been designed with the aim of combining efficiency and practicality. Its compact design allows it to fit easily into any working environment without compromising space. Despite its small size, the slicer guarantees high performance, capable of cutting the product into slices, rounds, and cubes with precision and speed.

"Our company offers tailor-made solutions to meet every need, thanks to our ability to listen to and understand our customers' needs," continues Cascella. "This new application is a case in point. Manufactured entirely in AISI 304 stainless steel, the MPC slicer is extremely flexible. It is equipped with a number of interchangeable blades that allow different types of cuts to be carried out. It is therefore ideal for the needs of small and medium-sized companies, but also for craftsmen in need of a reliable and multifunctional tool."
MPC machine
The machine requires only one operator and is capable of cutting from 2 to 12 slices with a thickness ranging from 10 to 30 mm. The slicer was developed in response to a specific request from customers. They wanted to be able to differentiate their production in the final step.

"The MPC is extremely compact and easy to use and maintain, so it is perfect for small production, combined with a line to complete it", explains the manager, "we have decided to cover all production capacities, from the largest to the smallest". PND operates on a global scale and has gained the trust of both industry technicians and customers, who recognise its machines as irreplaceable partners. The new tabletop cutter is already on the market and has attracted the interest of many industry professionals."
